Katherine W. Bauer, It’s All Mom’s Fault: What do we really know about the influence of parenting on children’s eating and obesity
Parents are told many things they should be doing to ensure their children have good nutrition and avoid becoming obese. Don’t let children drink soda, but don’t be overly restrictive. Don’t talk about your child’s weight, but make sure they’re not too heavy. The question is – which of these recommendations does scientific evidence support? This presentation will provide insight into the state of the childhood obesity science with regard to parenting, and raise awareness of what we do, and do not, know about how to support healthy children.
