Detroit Style: Car Design in the Motor City
THIS LECTURE WILL BE LIVE STREAMED
Join us on this dynamic virtual tour as the DIA celebrates the Detroit designers who shaped the American automobile, bringing 12 coupes and sedans inside the museum. The exhibit will highlight the artistry and influence of Detroit car designers working between 1950 and the present day.
The cars, four from each of the Big Three American automakers, include experimental show cars created for display and iconic production models sold to the mass market, displayed with design drawings and photographs.
A selection of paintings and sculptures will highlight the conversation between the American art world and the car culture from the 1950s to the present day.
Preregistration is required via the OLLI website or phone. A link to access the virtual tour will be e-mailed to you approximately one week prior to the event.
