Two Aussie brothers and an underground NYC hand drummer
The Kin is an eclectic band composed of Australian brothers Thorald and Isaac Koren and the New York drummer Shakerleg. They were first introduced to Ann Arbor last June, when they came here to perform for Pioneer High School graduate Will McGuckin, who was recovering from surgery. Stowaways from Adelaide, Australia, they found a new home in downtown NYC in their early musical years after high school and eventually ended up running into underground performer Shakerleg. The trio has been touring the world with their co-led soaring vocals, wrenching melodic guitars, and Shakerleg's explosive hand drumming. They're total originals; they sometimes do dinner theater of a sort; and you should check them out!
