Brackeen Supreme Court case. The case was brought by the states of Texas, Louisiana, and Indiana, and individual plaintiffs, and seeks to declare the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA) unconstitutional. The Indian Child Welfare Act was enacted to protect Native children and families by ensuring Native children remained connected to their culture.
