HEP-Astro Seminar | Belle II@SuperKEKB: New Physics and the Next Generation
Tom Browder (University of Hawaii at Manoa)
Results from B factories, the LHC and Fermilab now suggest that flavor physics could be an alternate path to breaking the Standard Model of particle physics. The possibility of lepton flavor universality violation is especially intriguing. I will give an accessible and pedagogical review of a few early results from the first long Belle II/SuperKEKB physics run (2019-2022) and describe the long term physics potential of Belle II as well as some prospects and pathways for new physics discoveries.
