Each panelist will discuss their unique experiences and offer insight into the variety of career opportunities for young professionals graduating with a degree in History. This event is open to all U-M students and will be especially beneficial for those wondering, “What can I do with a history degree?"

• Avi Sholkoff: With his State Legislative, political campaign and agency experience, Avi brings to ROKK an ability to examine and distill complex policy issues into compelling and straightforward analysis. As a Senior Account Executive, he manages day-to-day client projects. Avi earned his Bachelor of Arts degree with Distinction and High Honors in History at the University of Michigan. He served as senior sports editor at the Michigan Daily and was a group leader for Wolverine Support Network, a student-led organization whose mission is to empower Michigan students to create an inclusive community and support each other’s identities.
• Emma Kinery: Emma grew up in rural northern Michigan and is a 2018 graduate of the University of Michigan where she majored in history and English. While there she served as the editor in chief of The Michigan Daily and contributed to USA Today as a political reporter. After college, she interned on the finance team at Bloomberg News in New York before starting at the Washington, DC bureau as a national political correspondent. She covered the 2020 presidential election embedded with Senator Bernie Sanders’s campaign for the primary and reported on then-candidate Joe Biden in the general. After writing on the Biden administration’s transition, she spent several months in Albany, NY covering the investigations into and ultimate resignation of New York Governor Andrew Cuomo. Emma currently covers the White House as a reporter for CNBC.
• Craig Barker: Craig has spent over 20 years at his alma mater of Stevenson High School of Livonia, Michigan as the AP United States History teacher. Beyond the classroom, he has served as the school's quiz bowl coach, digital media coordinator, and unofficial historian. In 2019, Craig was honored as the Jim and Annette McConnell Award Winner as the Michigan High School History Teacher of the Year.
• Krista Albertins: Krista studied History and Political Science and minored in Museum Studies at UM. Her studies focused on public history and Latvian cultural history. Krista began her public history career as a docent at the Kelsey Museum of Archaeology, and later worked as a Public Programs Assistant at UMMA and Camp Curriculum Coordinator at UMMNH.
• Levi Teitel: Levi has been involved with numerous electoral and issue campaigns since graduating in 2018 coordinating messaging and media outreach, and his work has been published in numerous statewide publications. His work currently is focused on supporting grassroots rural organizations advocating for progressive ideas and holding government officials accountable through new media and traditional communications.
