Dr. Isaiah Sypher (he/him) is a Postdoctoral Fellow at Wholeview Wellness, an outpatient, addiction-focused, private practice based in New York City. He received his PhD in Clinical Science from the University of Michigan (Advisors: Dr. Luke Hyde and Dr. Rosario Ceballo) and completed his predoctoral internship in clinical/community psychology at the Yale School of Medicine. In this informal conversation, Dr. Sypher will discuss his career trajectory, with some focus on how the various identities he holds (Queer, Black, first-generation college student, low-income) have informed his career experiences. He will also happily answer questions on a wide range of topics, including postbaccalaureate research programs, applying to graduate school, building community as a person from a marginalized background, research, clinical internships, private practice, and more! This talk could be relevant for anyone interested in pursuing Clinical Psychology.
