"Red Scare: A Counter-History"
Lecture by Professor Alan M. Wald
Professor Wald will explain the famous Red Scare of the 1950s, usually associated with the anti-Communist politics of Senator Joseph McCarthy. The lecture is part of a preview lecture and film series leading up to the conference, "A New Insurgency: The Port Huron Statement in Its Time and Ours," Oct. 31-Nov.2. The statement became the manifesto for the radical student movement of the 1960s.
