The Symphony Band divides into smaller ensembles to present a stylistically diverse evening of music for winds. The performance will feature the premiere of a work by Ann Arbor and UM’s own William Bolcom. His “Serenade for English Horn and Chamber Ensemble” was commissioned by his long time friend, UM Director of Bands Emeritus for his wife Kristin who will be the soloist. Additional works by Arrieu, Henning, and Rossini as arranged by UM alum Stephen Gryc showcase the virtuosity of these world class student musicians.
