Please join us for a virtual 90-minute career panel held on zoom. Sponsored by the Rackham Office of Professional Development and Engagement Office, this event is designed to expose first generation graduate students to the plethora of careers available to them after graduation. Panelists come from the fields of patent law, science writing, medical science liaison, and strategic philanthropy.
This event is designed specifically for the professional development needs of first generation students. This is because previously conducted focus groups revealed concerns from first generation students about their desires to explore career options outside of academia and well-known industry careers. However, they did not know which options were available to them. This panel is designed to bring in professionals and leaders from alternative career paths to (1) address the career exploration needs of first-generation students and (2) provide expertise in said fields to introduce students to these career options.
The panelists invited include a mixture of first generation and non-first generation professionals.
