Certainly you are reading for your classes, but how often do you have time to read for pleasure and relaxation without worrying about grades?  Join other Honors community members in a fun, and sometimes heated, discussion of selected books. The 2022-2023 options included books by authors from around the world and voices and cultures less commonly taught in American high schools. No single book or author can adequately capture a region, nation, or culture but this is a place to start. We hope you will join us in this exploration. By student vote, we have selected two books for the fall and winter terms.  How does it work?Review the options below and select the book or books that you want to read.  Sign up to attend the relevant discussion.Read the book in advance of the discussion and come prepared to share your reaction. What questions or insights did the book provoke? Book discussions will (generally) last 1 hour.Who can attend and earn engagement points?Honors students at all levels are welcome.There is no limit to the number of sessions you can attend.1st and 2nd year Honors students are eligible to earn engagement points towards the Sophomore Honors Award.  Earn 1 point/book read for a maximum of 3 points.Participation in the discussion is required to be point eligible. Questions?  Email Denise at dguillot@umich.edu
