Publication is one of the essential methods a scholar uses to disseminate their work, but many graduate students and postdoctoral fellows have little or no prior experience with authorship. In this workshop, we will share best practices for scholarly authorship, provide an overview of the phases of authorship, and discuss the questions that often arise in the publication process. Given that graduate students and postdoctoral fellows often co-author with mentors and peers, we will also share resources for discussing co-authorship with others. The focus will be on scholarly publication rather than other forms of publication, such as fiction writing, creative writing, etc. You will hear from staff experts and faculty leaders, including associate deans and graduate chairs:
