Parent and Caregiver Support: A Resource Panel for Graduate Student Parents, Caregivers, and Parents-to-be
Calling all graduate student parents, caregivers and parents-to-be! Have you been looking for resources that are available to you?
Are you interested in:
Scholarships
Fellowships
Child-friendly study rooms
Lactation rooms on campus
Child care subsidies
Other child care and caregiver resources
If the answer is yes, this event is definitely for you!
Join us for a joint Zoom session with campus partners from CEW+, the Financial Aid Office, and the Work-Life Resource Center. We will be discussing resources on finances, funding, physical spaces, and more!
There will be a full Q&A where you will get to ask university representatives the questions you have about support, resources, and guidance for graduate student parents, caregivers, and parents-to-be.
Featured Presenters:
Jessica Pelton, student caregiver coordinator at CEW+, will provide information about resources at CEW+ and resources for student parents and caregivers across campus.
Monet Tiedemann, a senior financial aid administrator, will talk about resources such as the childcare subsidy, budget reevaluation, emergency funds, and financial aid available to graduate student parents.
Amy Szczepanski of the Work-Life Resource Center will give an overview of child care resources, including the U-M Children’s Centers, Campus Child Care Homes, and Kids Kare, plus sites where students can search for licensed child care programs, or for caregivers to come to their home.
Erin Lane, scholarship program manager at CEW+, will provide information about scholarships, fellowships, and emergency funding offered through CEW+.
Please direct any questions to Sam Hobson at sehobson@umich.edu.
