A soulful songwriter original

Singer-songwriter-bluesman Jackie Greene's heroes are Bob Dylan and Tom Waits, and he has what those two have: an outward relaxed casualness that is really a monster talent, and a blues voice and instrumental technique that form the foundation of a new stage of roots songwriting. Since taking the 2004 Folk Festival by storm, Jackie has become an Ark favorite with his unique attitude and total mastery of distinctive vocal sounds and instrumental textures. This Northern California sensation was discovered at an open mic night by the owner of the Dig music label. He sings and plays guitars, dobro, piano, harmonica, and percussion.
