UUAP's "Not Just a Woman" Leadership Exchange
A Look at Intersecting Identities
This mini-conference aims to bring together U of M community members to shed light on the culture of "woman" on this campus and others across the country. Join us to discuss this important topic and shed light on future initiatives relating to women's empowerment!
Opening remarks will be made by Susan Pile, Director of the Michigan Union and University Unions Arts & Programs. InterGroup Relations will then facilitate a brief workshop that highlights how being a woman is just one portion of our identities, and inevitably is impacted by other memberships we hold.
Discussion will lend itself to a panel of distinguished female scholars including: Dr. Teresa A.Sullivan, Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and Professor of Sociology, K. Page Boyer, Doctoral Candidate at the Center for the Study of Higher and Postsecondary Education, Dr. Lisa Disch, Professor of Political Science and Women's Studies, and Dr. Jane Hassinger, Psychotherapist and Professor of Women's Studies.
We hope you can join! Enjoy refreshments throughout the discussion, workshop, and panel.
This workshop is open to anyone -- Register today by heading to uuis.umich.edu/workshops
