2023 Spring Police Officer Hiring Event - Gwinnett County Police Department

Please Join us at our 2023 Spring Gwinnett County Police Officer Hiring Event on May 6 & 7.

This is a special opportunity for alumni and 2023 spring graduates to complete the entire first phase of the two phase hiring process with the Gwinnett County Police Department. Conditionaljob offers may be given during this event. Those attending will complete some or all of the following: physical ability test (obstacle course comprised of 9 interspersed individual tasks), an orientation, more detailed application, credit check, and an oral interview. The entire process typically takes two to three hours, although it may take longer. It is suggested you bring water and a snack. Part of this event may occur outside.

The Gwinnett County Police Department is a nationally accredited and rapidly growing police agency locatedin the northeastern quadrant of the Atlanta metropolitan area. The Department has an authorized strength of 930 sworn officers and 129 communications officers supported by 167 civilian employees with the responsibility ofproviding law enforcement services to approximately 900,000 residents within an area of 436 square miles. The department is a full service agency with numerous specialized units, to include Computer Forensics, K-9, Aviation, Technology Research, Accident Investigations, Training, S.W.A.T., Crime Prevention, Hazardous Devices, and many more.

Employees are trained to become Police Officers. Applicants must pass a series of tests and interviews prior to selection as employees. Once selected, individuals must complete academy requirements, and if successful, continue to field training assisted by veteran officers (PO Master or Corporals). This job requires a pre-employment drug test and subsequent random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with Gwinnett County Drug and Alcohol Free Workplace.

Salary:

$4,700 hiring incentive for new hires

$48,703 (includes 3% pay incentive for an Associate's degree)

$50,121 (includes 6% pay incentive for a Bachelor's degree)
