ATTN: This info session pertains to 5 upcoming FULL-TIME vacancies in OEI regional offices in Atlanta, Boston, and Chicago. Open only to recent graduates (generally, within the past 2 years). U.S. CITIZENSHIP IS REQUIRED.
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Office of Inspector General, Office of Evaluation and Inspections (OEI) is seeking applicants to join our mission-driven, intellectually curious, and collaborative regional teams based in Atlanta, Boston, and Chicago. OEI conducts national evaluations of the policies, procedures, and operations of HHS programs to provide HHS, Congress, and the public with timely, useful, and reliable information on significant issues. These evaluations focus on preventing fraud, waste, and abuse; promoting quality, safety, and value; and advancing excellence and innovation in HHS programs such as Medicare and Medicaid and in HHS agencies such as CDC, NIH, and FDA. OEI evaluations include recommendations to HHS to improve program operations. This info session will provide a brief introduction to HHSOIG/OEI and more details about our upcoming vacancies.
The selected candidates will work in teams in their regional offices to research programissues, develop data collection instruments, conduct interviews, compile and analyze data, and write reports. Current inspections cover a broadrange of public health topics such as the COVID-19 pandemic, the opioid epidemic, Medicare drug spending, quality of care in Medicare and Medicaid, and data quality issues. OEI is committed to promoting health equity through our evaluations and recommendations and to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion among our staff.
