Cycling Spring Break Travel
Summary
IU Bloomington has moved their race weekend up from March 11 to March 4, which is during break. Therefore, our plans have changed.
Our spring break travel is split into two events: our training camp in Georgia and our in-conference race in Bloomington with IU. The majority of our athletes as well as
our coach will be going to Georgia, and leaving early and traveling directly to IU to also compete before heading back to Ann Arbor. A minority of our team will be
traveling from Ann Arbor to the race, and meeting our coach there. More information on these events can be found below.
Georgia
We will be training in Blairsville, GA for the entirety of break, leaving on the morning of the 24th and getting back on the 5th of March. Some athletes will be going to IU
on the 3rd, and heading home to Ann Arbor after the race on the 4th.
We will be staying at 200 Firefly Meadows Drive, Blairsville, GA 30512, and each day of break will consist of one cycling workout and one non-cycling activity. We will
have safety officers attending the trip, and will be under the supervision of our coach.
The athletes that will be racing will leave on the morning of the 3rd and will travel with our coach in two separate personal vehicles. Here is the information for those
cars:
kurt Schaldenbrand 2017 subaru forester progressive 925532629 cyclng
Michael Otenbaker 2021 chevy silverado citizens insurance company of the midwest A6B D953042 01 EJD1859
Race at IU Bloomington
The events will take place during the morning and afternoon of March 4th, and will be attended by athletes that are going on the spring break training camp as well as
those that are not. For those who are traveling from Ann Arbor, we will be sure to provide adequate instructions for them to travel safely, and will be requesting a
university vehicle. I will personally advise them on how to pick up the vehicle, and what needs to be done to take care of them.
All athletes will be traveling to the event on the 3rd and returning immediately after it has finished on the 4th. We will be gathering attendance information and will
have everything finalized by Feb 18th. Once we have a full roster we can find an Airbnb or hotel to reserve, and we will be getting in touch with you once that has
completed.
