Student Commutative Algebra: Showing F-purity and F-regularity through examples
Trung Chau, University of Utah
Tight closure, introduced by Hochster and Huneke, has proved to be an effective tool in studying classical ring properties and opened many directions into attacking problems. F-singularities, a.k.a. tight closure properties (to algebraists, at least), then become popular ring properties that researchers want to show for special classes of rings and algebras. In this talk, I will introduce several ways to show two of those, F-purity and F-regularity, through many examples.
The talk will be virtual, but we will have a watch party in our usual room. If you would like the zoom info to attend virtually instead, email an organizer or join our mailing list.
