A look at Iterative Methods via Cubic NLS

Katja Vassilev

In this talk, we will explore the Wave Kinetic Equation for the Cubic Nonlinear Schrodinger Equation (NLS). We will begin with a brief overview of the history of Wave Turbulence Theory and then discuss how the problem (for the NLS and other PDEs) can be reformulated into a counting problem on Trees/Molecules. We will also directly compute the first few iterates for the NLS to see how the Wave Kinetic Equation arises.
