M-CLIC presents: CLIC-N-CUTZ Barbershop Series (Apr 6, 2023)

The Men of Color Leading in the Classroom program (M-CLIC) presents the "CLIC-N-CUTZ" Barbershop Series! This unique, informative, and safe-spaced barbershop experience invites all U-M attendees of any race or gender to meet and fellowship!"Finding Purpose Through Service!"Join us for the final barbershop series workshop of the semester! There is no secret that the persistence, retention, and graduation rate of males of color are the lowest in the nation. We need more men of color to become educators, but we also need men in positions of service as volunteers and mentors. This Thursday, we discuss why it is every man's responsibility to be of service to the next generation of young people. Beyond free haircuts from licensed barbers and refreshments in a comfortable environment, participants are encouraged to engage in a meaningful dialogue about critical issues that affect men of color in education while brainstorming effective solutions to counteract some of the stresses that males of color face today.
"CLIC-N-CUTZ"...A Cut Above the Rest! The mission of Men of Color Leading In the Classroom (M-CLIC) is to increase and impact the number of African American, Latino, Native, and Asian males entering the teaching profession. However, this program is open to all U-M students of any race or gender interested in enrolling in the School of Education at the University of Michigan and pursuing a career in education post-graduation.
