SMTD@UMMA: The Hero in Battle

UMMA’s exhibition Benjamin West: General Wolfe and the Art of Empire is a close look at Benjamin West’s iconic depiction of the death of British commander General James Wolfe at the 1759 Battle of Quebec, one of Great Britain's most famous military victories, during what in this country is known as the French and Indian War. Directors Aaron Berofsky and Edward Parmentier lead the UM Early Music Ensemble in works by Biber and others that evoke the heroic.
