Title: New Strategies for Anticancer and Antibacterial Drug Discovery
Abstract: The current drug discovery process is lengthy and with a low rate of success. We have been exploring new strategies and translational paradigms to identify novel drug candidates, compounds that have an increased chance of becoming a drug. This lecture will describe our recent discovery of a potent new compound for estrogen receptor positive breast cancer, and our work to develop antibiotics for the most problematic Gram-negative infections.
