Makeup Session: 2023 Virtual CLIC Summer Series presents: Come PLAAY! (Passionately Living and Accepting Yourself)
The Men of Color Leading in the Classroom program (M-CLIC) presents the 2023 Virtual CLIC Summer Series! Open to the entire community!
Come "PLAAY"! (Passionately Living and Accepting Yourself)Join us for the makeup session of this Virtual CLIC Summer Series workshop with Retired Educator and Passion Coach, Dr. Joyce Piert as we learn to "PLAAY"! PLAAY means "Passionately Living and Accepting Yourself". As children we play and we play freely, but as we grow up, we begin to think of ourselves as responsible adults. We are taught that adults are no longer allowed to play and so we put "childish" things aside. We lose the awe and wonderment of life from looking at the world through the eyes of the child in non-judgement and acceptance. In this workshop, the participants are invited to create a space of play with each other that is undergirded in freedom, acceptance, non-judgement and compassion for themselves and each other. In this play space, each child of the Spirit will collectively assist each other to explore modalities for passionately living and acceptance of self and others without judgment and with unconditional love. The mission of Men of Color Leading In the Classroom (M-CLIC) is to increase and impact the number of African American, Latino, Native, and Asian males entering the teaching profession. However, this program is open to all U-M students of any race or gender interested in enrolling in the School of Education at the University of Michigan and pursuing a career in education post-graduation.
