"Awakenings" Film Screening - Michigan Theater.

The University of Michigan Center for RNA Biomedicine in conjunction with Michigan Medicine presents a special presentation of the film “Awakenings” at the Michigan Theater, 603 East Liberty Street in Ann Arbor. The victims of an encephalitis epidemic many years ago have been catatonic ever since, but now a new drug offers the prospect of reviving them. Directed by Penny Marshall and starring Robin Williams and Robert De Niro, the screening will be preceded by a panel Q&A discussion with experts from the University of Michigan specializing in the development of RNA Therapeutics for neurological diseases. 6 p.m. Michigan Theater. Masks optional. Tickets $10.50 unless otherwise noted (children under 12, students, seniors age 65 & older, & U.S. veterans, $8.50; MTF members, $8) in advance online (recommended) & at the door.
