Jay Peng Zhang, of the Tujia ethnic group from Western Hunan Province, is a folk singer, choreographer, and modern dancer. Known for his research and performance of Tujia vocal traditions, Zhang has spent the last 10 years setting work across China and the United States.

Terry Tsang, is an emerging choreographer and independent dancer, who recently premiered work for City Contemporary Dance Company Hong Kong. In recent years, Tsang has incorporated dance photography into his artist process, intensifying his investigation on dance creation and the human body.

Presented by the Center for World Performance Studies with support from the School of Music, Theatre & Dance. This project was made possible by a grant from the Arts Initiative at the University of Michigan.
