A Mentors Summit: Advising Students on a Better Path

The University of Michigan Detroit Center will host a free, one-day seminar entitled, “A Mentors Summit: Advising Students on a Better Path” from 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m., Saturday, December 8. This informative workshop will take place in partnership with the Center for Educational Outreach, Office of Undergraduate Admissions, Office of New Student Programs and Office of Financial Aid. Lunch and free parking are provided.
The seminar is designed to promote college opportunity awareness and preparation. Throughout the day attendees will gain knowledge and information on how to take the necessary steps to prepare young people for higher education. As a result, participants will leave better equipped to advise youth on the opportunities available to them and the steps they need to take to achieve their short and long-term academic goals.
Seminar topics include: The Value of a College Education, My Path to College, Demystifying the College Admissions Process, Paying for College, Making a Successful Transition and an Overview of the Michigan Process. See below, for the seminar agenda.
