Mid-Autumn Festival
For Chinese people, the Mid-Autumn Festival (Zhongqiu Jie) is a time to meet with family and friends and enjoy the beautiful full moon together. The Detroit Observatory, Lieberthal-Rogel Center for Chinese Studies, and U-M Astronomy invite you to the observatory for a celebration of the Mid-Autumn Festival. The evening will include presentations from U-M Astronomy on the lunar surface features and robotic moon exploration, tours of the Detroit Observatory, and telescope observing of the moon. Families are welcome!
The Kenneth G. Lieberthal and Richard H. Rogel Center for Chinese Studies (LRCCS) was founded in 1961 and has been a national leader in Chinese Studies for over 60 years. A member of the International Institute, LRCCS provides students, specialists, and the public with expert resources and a deeper understanding of contemporary and historical issues related to China.
