Join Black and Pink at SPH on Tuesday, September 26, from 6:30-8:00 pm at Neutral Zone in Ann Arbor for an evening of learning about what can exist beyond policing and prisons. We’ll kick off the event with a screening of the film collection, Beyond Walls. This series of short films examines prison abolition from a range of perspectives to inspire viewers to imagine and take action toward investing in community and not punitive practices. Following the films, a panel featuring the Coalition for Revisioning Our Safety (CROS), Care-Based Safety (CBS), and Groundcover will discuss the importance of community-led, unarmed non-police responses to public safety concerns in Washtenaw County. This event is generously sponsored by Working Films.  Refreshments will be provided. Films are closed captioned. Wheelchair accessible entrance is on the Fifth Ave. side of the building. Please reach out about additional access needs by September 12. RSVP for this event here. Feel free to invite your friends.
