IOE 813: Providing Better Healthcare Through Systems Engineering
Contraception: Tension Between Client Needs and Provider Capabilities
This seminar series is presented by the U-M Center for Healthcare Engineering & Patient Safety (CHEPS). Our mission is to improve the safety and quality of healthcare delivery through a multi-disciplinary, systems-engineering approach.
This weeks guest speaker is Julia Kramer, PhD, MPH, and an Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering. Professor Kramer’s research investigates engineering and design approaches to promote social justice and equity, particularly through the development and investigation of products, services, and systems that improve access to health care in low-resource settings. She also studies and teaches human-centered design methods that support diverse participation in equity-oriented work. She aims to apply her design background towards greater health, development, and social equity.
