Pre-Social Work & Pre-Public Health Students with Sommer Albert ‘22 MSW University of Washington & Brandon Bond ‘22 MSW-MPH U-M: Alum Connection session
Join us for this interactive virtual session in our Grad School Alum Connections series, bringing aMAIZing LSA alums together with students to share their journeys in and beyond grad school. Sommer Albert and Brandon Bond graduated from LSA in 2020, with majors in Gender and Health/Psychology and BCN/International Studies, respectively. Sommer is an expert community builder, preventionist, youth educator, and trauma-informed facilitator and currently works as a Suicide Prevention Specialist at Education Development Center’s Suicide Prevention Resource Center. Brandon works as a Mental Health and Well-Being Student Advocate at LSA, responsible for assessing the needs of students, advocating for systemic-level changes, and implementing solutions that produce health-promoting environments, policies, and structures. He has a passion for mental health and well-being, DEI, global perspectives, and human rights advocacy. They both are deeply committed to ensuring that all communities have the resources and support they need to be self-sustaining.
Join Sommer and Brandon in this virtual session to ask them any and all questions you may have about pursuing a MSW, MPH or both! They are excited to share their experiences, thoughts on the process of applying to grad school, creating a balance of professional and personal fulfillment, and how to pick the right school for you.

- Thinking about applying to grad school for social work and/or public health
- Curious about potentially pursuing both an MSW and MPH
- Unsure what grad programs will make you feel at home with your social identities and lived experience
