Steve Mariotti, Founder of Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE)

The Nonprofit and Public Management Center’s (NPM) Social Innovation Series brings top leaders to campus who cut across boundaries to provide innovative, practical solutions for society’s biggest challenges. The next speaker in the series is Steve Mariotti, a leading expert in education for at-risk youth and the Founder of the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE).
NFTE’s mission is to provide entrepreneurship education programs to young people from low income communities. The program has a proven track record and is frequently modeled by other programs to teach business skills and personal growth. NFTE has reached 500,000 young people since its founding and has programs in 18 states and 9 countries.
In addition to being a two-time Michigan alumnus, Mariotti is a recipient of numerous national entrepreneurial, educational, and humanitarian awards. Please join him as he shares his founding story as well as discusses why youth entrepreneurship education is a solution to high school dropout rates and unemployment.
The Nonprofit and Public Management Center is a collaboration between the Ross School of Business, Ford School of Public Policy, and the School of Social Work. For more information, please visit www.nonprofit.umich.edu.
