Advocacy and Empowerment in Rap Music
In this 60-minute discussion, participants will engage in conversation centered around the impact of hip-hop/rap music on our understanding of social change, and advocacy. This session will analyze and highlight lessons from the work of artists such as Public Enemy, No Name, and Kendrick Lamar who have intentionally called for their listeners to address societal concerns and the normalcy of these messages in rap music.
