ELI Student to Student Event: Halloween Celebration!

Celebrate Halloween with other U-M international students and get into the Halloween spirit! Halloween, also known as All Hallows' Eve, is rooted in ancient Celtic traditions. It marks the end of the harvest season and the beginning of the dark, cold winter. The Celts believed that on the night of October 31st, the boundary between the living and the dead blurred, allowing spirits to roam the Earth. To celebrate the mysterious and the supernatural, you will make your own Jack-o'-Lantern, one of the most iconic symbols of Halloween. It's said that the Jack-o'-Lantern was used to ward off evil spirits. You will also meet new people, play games, and indulge in pizza and Halloween candies. Wear your costume if you want!ELI “Student to Student” events are fun, interactive social gatherings planned and led by U-M students to help U-M international students meet people and build community. They include activities to relieve stress, increase social connectedness, and help you learn about US and Michigan culture—while practicing English!
