What does a clothesline hobbyist collect, and why? This fun presentation and display of laundry nostalgia will revive memories of simpler times when laundry was always hung to dry outdoors – when folks went “online” without the Internet. We’ll touch on washday history and sociological issues of ethnic stereotypes, feminism, and the demise of the clothesline as automatic dryers emerged. We’ll learn why “solar drying” is the way to go. There will be a “show-and-tell,” laundry poetry, personal stories, and lots of sharing. Let’s “hang out” together!
