Enhancing adherence in Type 2 diabetes
A randomized controlled trial of a behavioral intervention paired with electronic self-monitoring

Presentation by Mary Ann Sevick, ScD, RN, Professor of Medicine, Behavioral and Community Health Sciences, and Clinical and Translational Science, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and Graduate School of Public Health
Dr. Sevick has lead several single-site and multicenter clinical trials of behavioral change interventions. She is currently the principal investigator of a study funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to test the effectiveness of a technology-assisted intervention to reduce dietary sodium intake in hemodialysis patients. She is also the principal investigator on a study funded by the VA Health Services Research and Development (HSR&D) to determine the effectiveness of expert system-based counseling for engaging sedentary veterans in physical activity.
Her area of specialization includes dietary self-management, physical activity, diabetes, chronic kidney disease and end-stage renal disease.
