Lavender Graduation—or LavGrad—celebrates and honors LGBTQ+ graduates and allies at the University of Michigan. Established by Ronni Sanlo in 1995, the inaugural LavGrad at the University of Michigan was also the first graduation celebration of its kind, and the celebration has since spread to schools across the United States.
