This is a new fair and initiative honoring our Black and Browncommunities during Black History Month.

As the birthplace of public education in this nation, BPS is committed to transforming the lives of all children through exemplary teaching in a world-class system of diverse,innovative and welcoming schools. Boston Public Schools knows that there is no more important factor in a child’s education than a great teacher. We are seeking individuals who are able to serve ALL students, regardless of ability or language, and who hold multiple licenses. Research showsall students benefit from having teachers of color.

Come network withcurrent School Leaders and the Recruitment Team looking to attract candidates that identify with lineage from the Black Roots Diaspora. During this event, you'll learn about the Black Diaspora communities from the Recruitment team along side the Opportunity and Achievement Gap team about Boston's diverse history of education along as well as various high need openings and other teaching opportunities. You can also answer your questions about the application and hiring process.

We especially welcome educators who are multilingual or have certification to teach English as a SecondLanguage (ESL) OR have fluency in one or more of the following languages:ASL, Arabic, Cabo Verdean Creole, Haitian Creole, Portuguese, Somali, or Spanish.

First-year teachers earn more than $64,000 and can makewell over $90,000 by their sixth year. Teachers in the Boston Public Schools also have access to dedicated support (access to a New Teacher Developer in their first year), exclusive resources (such as reduced tuition at area colleges), and benefits as a member of the Boston Teachers’ Union (BTU).
