A Conversation with State of Michigan Representative Lisa Brown
Join us for a conversation with Michigan State Representative Lisa Brown, who will share her thoughts on the challenges and opportunities faced by women in politics and public policy.
After saying the word “vagina” during a June 2012 debate on reproductive health, Representative Brown was barred from speaking on an unrelated bill. The ensuing outcry from feminist organizations spurred national headlines and a performance of the “Vagina Monologues” on the steps of the Michigan State Capitol in Lansing attended by thousands.
