SMTD at UMMA: Musical Contemporaries of the Impressionists
The desire for a creative milieu independent of established French institutions was shared by visual artists and composers alike in the second half of the nineteenth century. This program features vocal and instrumental solo and chamber works by independent composers such as Emmanuel Chabrier, Camille Saint-Saens, Georges Bizet, Henri Duparc, and Cesar Franck, performed by SMTD students.
