Multivariate pattern analyses of fMRI data have evolved significantly in the past two decades, from the cross-correlation classifier in the Haxby et al. 2001 article, to recent developments in hyperalignment. In this workshop I will give a brief history of MVPA, and what hyperalignment can be used for. I will demonstrate the analysis of a sample dataset using this technique, and we will discuss how to interpret the results.
