Title: “Advanced Batteries Technology - Opportunities Revisited”
Mercedes-Benz Research & Development North America (MBRDNA) works in many areas of engineering and one objective is to understand future battery technologies for electric powertrains. We will take the example of fast charging, which can be achieved in various ways, and work through some of the implications on battery chemistry and system construction. We will further discuss how new technology may present advantages beyond fast charging and interesting challenges for future scientists and engineers. Because new technology would not be useful without a matching manufacturing process we will close with the review of a scale-up problem.
