Post-war Japan is at its lowest point when a new crisis emerges in the form of a giant monster, baptized in the horrific power of the atomic bomb.

Curator's note by Markus Nornes: Set in the ruins of 1946 Tokyo, the newest Godzilla is immensely satisfying. After the disappointing American Godzillas and Anno's quirky post-3.11 version, Godzilla Minus One presents us with old-school Godzilla carnage and pleasures. The politics are as garbled as ever, the story is peppered with charming cringe moments, and the special effects are the best ever.

This screening will take place on the FINAL DAY of Godzilla Minus One's U.S. theatrical release.
