Two and half years on, since the takeover of the country by the Taliban, so much has changed in Afghanistan, but not for the better. Life has become depressingly difficult, people are deprived of their basic rights such as any sort of governance and social services. With minimal services offered to the citizens in certain areas of the major cities, almost everyone pays a price for something they don’t see themselves part of, yet everyone is taxed indiscriminately. For groups like artists, musicians, women and even journalists life has no meaning any longer. Added to all these is the deafening silence and indifference of the international community.
