At the conclusion of this session, attendees will have information about the
reasons for anticoagulation with certain abnormal heart rhythms,
intracardiac clot, certain types of cardiac valve replacements, and other
etiologies. There are many different kinds of anticoagulants as well as
associated monitoring factors for safety. The duration of anticoagulation
therapy also has pros and cons which will be discussed.
