Taste of Taiwan is a night where TASA and TWSA collaborate to replicate a Taiwanese night market at the University of Michigan. This year's theme will be based on the real-life Keelung Miaokou Night Market. During the event, people are able to experience different aspects of Taiwanese culture through food, games, cultural booths, and entertainment. The cultural booths will present an assortment of catered food available for attendees such as braised pork wide noodles, fried braised tofu, rice noodles, beef noodle soup, and shaved ice. In addition, we will have Taiwanese cultured games like mahjong, Chinese chess, mahjong bingo, and Taiwanese ring toss. For entertainment, different organizations on campus will be performing at our event that includes Revolution (Chinese yo-yo), Michigan lion dance, rXn, DB3, Seoul Juice, and Female Gayo. Overall, we hope to introduce everyone to Taiwanese culture and encourage them to try new things out of their comfort zone. The food, games, and entertainment will help present Taiwanese culture to our attendees in the best possible way. Our overall agenda for attendees is to allow them to walk from booth to booth that will either present a Taiwanese dish or game. Roughly around halfway through the event, the entertainment portion will begin in Auditorium 1324 of East Hall. Afterward, the attendees have the opportunity to visit any booths they have not been to yet during the event. We hope our attendees will learn something new about Taiwanese culture!
