2024 Rackham César Chávez Day of Service and Learning Student Event
Please join Rackham Graduate School as we celebrate the 2024 César Chávez Day of Service and Learning featuring Christine Chávez.
Christine Chávez, granddaughter of César Chávez, serves as the outreach coordinator for the U.S. Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service. Christine has made a lifetime commitment to civil rights, the labor movement, and community organizing.
In her remarks, she will explore how college students and young people were vital to the success of the labor movement, as well as how students and youth can continue to advance César Chávez’s legacy of service and learning today.
Christine Chávez’s talk will be followed by a student panel, featuring undergraduate and graduate students from U-M, who will be addressing the same themes.
Registration is required at https://myumi.ch/ZDZpG.
