Rhythm and Flow: Guided Scroll Making
A Public Humanities Intern event
Preregistration is required for food-ordering purposes. Register to attend at: https://sessions.studentlife.umich.edu/p/track/11299.
Join us for an evening of painting, food, and creativity at our Rhythm and Flow: Guided Scroll-Making event. We will be joined by Susan Goethel Campbell, a multidisciplinary artist and printmaker based in Detroit. Much like Campbell’s work, this event is inspired by the natural cycles of the garden—from planting to growth and decay to rebirth—as offering perspective in a present-day of uncertainty. Before the guided scroll making, participants are invited for dinner and a guided tour of Campbell’s installation Garden Repairs. Then, Susan Goethel Campbell will guide participants through prompts meant to engage and inspire. What strokes does the sound of raindrops evoke? What can be created with simple branches and paint? Embrace freedom of expression and creativity, and witness the beauty of collaborative scroll-making.
