Bad Plants

Heather I. Sullivan (Trinity University)

Sullivan has originated a number of influential ecocritical concepts, most recently the "dark green," which this talk will introduce. The “dark green” draws awareness to the Anthropocene’s changes in culturally embedded human-plant relationships, emphasizing our dependence on “darkened” (i.e. altered and polluted) vegetation that feeds us and the animals we eat, and produces much of the oxygen we breathe.
