Drawing on best practices from the fields of Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) and Intercultural Communication, colleagues from U-M’s English Language Institute share skills and strategies that enable advisors and other student support staff to communicate effectively with diverse international and other second language/multilingual students in order to better support these students and make U-M a more linguistically and culturally inclusive space.
